Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni spoke to Italian broadcaster InterTV following the Nerazzurri’s tough 2-1 win over Hellas Verona in the Serie A tonight at the San Siro.

“We strongly wanted to close this period of matches with a good win. It was bad, with the goal conceded at the beginning. But we didn’t get nervous and managed to turn it around.”

“With confidence, the desire to move forward and help the team also increases. Playing a game which is similar to how Atalanta plays helps me a lot. You always play with the principle of keeping the ball and never throw it away.”

“I don’t feel like I’m on a par with the other defenders, because you just have to look at the statistics. But my goal is to improve day after day and live this dream.”

The 20-year-old Italian defender has become an important defensive option for Inter coach Antonio Conte, making six appearances so far this season for the Milanese club.

His impressive performances have seen him earn five starts for Inter this season.
