Former Milan and Roma coach Fabio Capello touched on the differences between the top squads in Italy in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Juve have strengthened year after year, taking advantage of the weaknesses of their opponents. With their growth in Europe, Juventus have become a popular destination for the big stars, like Ronaldo.”

“Only Napoli tried to oppose them, but the difference in technique and means in the end made the challenge impossible. Today there is Inter, who have the strength of the Suning group behind them and can afford to make major investments.”

Inter’s summer transfer moves, signing stars such as Romelu Lukaku and Stefano Sensi, have propelled them to second in the league table, one point behind league leaders Juventus and six points ahead of third place Roma after 11 games.

The Nerazzurri are likely to further strengthen their squad in January as they look to compete with the Bianconeri for the league title.
