Inter midfielder Valentino Lazaro, who assisted the first goal in the Nerazzurri’s difficult 2-1 win in the Serie A over Hellas Verona tonight, spoke to Italian broadcaster InterTV moments after the game.

“Today it was not easy to play a team with 6-7 players in their back line. But I think we played well, with patience. I’m very happy for the win.”

“It wasn’t easy, it was a tough game, especially after conceding a goal from a penalty kick. I’ll continue to work like this, I’ll always do what Antonio Conte asks me to do.”

“I have to improve in the defensively, I like to use my skills in the final third. I’m happy for my first assist with the Inter jersey.”

The 23-year-old Austrian impressed Inter coach Antonio Conte so much in his last game against Bologna that the 50-year-old Italian trusted him again to start tonight against the Veronese side.

He impressed again today and his pinpoint accurate cross allowed Matias Vecino to score the equalizer.
