Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella will be out for at least one month following the injury he suffered in the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win over Torino last night, according to a report from Italian media outlet Sky Sports Italia today.

The report details how the 22-year-old Italian suffered a sprained knee after landing awkwardly near the end of the first half in last night’s league clash. He limped off the pitch and looked extremely distressed, although he left the stadium without the usage of crutches.

Medical examinations today have shown that he will have to undergo surgery to remove a fragment of cartilage that has detached from his knee, which will force him to spend at least one month in rehabilitation, the report adds. Therefore, he is unlikely to play for Inter again in 2019 and will most likely return after the winter break.

This is bad news for coach Antonio Conte, as now he is without three midfielders due to injuries, with both Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini still unable to play.
