Inter medical staff will attempt to make Roberto Gagliardini available to Inter manager Antonio Conte for this weekend’s match against Genoa according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 25-year-old has missed Inter’s past few games with a foot injury and with Marcelo Brozovic now suspended, Conte is desperate to recover some of the injured midfielders to avoid having to rely on 17-year-old Lucien Agoume, who, whilst talented, is not yet first team quality.
The report states that Stefano Sensi may also be able to make a return. The Summer arrival has been struggling with a thigh injury, which has relapsed on several occasions, for some time now and there is great risk attached to trying to rush him back before he is ultimately ready.
Antonio Candreva could however be recovered and utilised in the centre of the park, even if only off of the substitutes bench. The Italian has starred at wing back this season but has played centrally in the past.
