Stefano Sensi could start for Inter in their first game back after the Serie A winter break when Inter take on Napoli in little over a week’s time according to a report from the online edition of Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The midfielder made his much-anticipated return to action following injury in the recent 4-0 win over Genoa as he made an appearance off of the substitutes bench for the final 20 minutes of the match that was played at San Siro.
The report goes on to state whilst it is good news for Inter manager Antonio Conte on the Sensi front, he will have to wait a little longer until he can call upon both Nicolo Barella and Alexis Sanchez.
Barella has been out for just over a month due to a knee injury and his condition will be evaluated ahead of the match against Napoli. It is possible that he may be able to make a Sensi-style return, failing that, he will aim to return for Inter’s next game after that which comes against Atalanta.
As for Sanchez, there is an increasing level of optimism surrounding his return. There is a chance he could return against Atalanta but is more likely to return against Cagliari.
