Inter could possibly go in for Lionel Messi if the multi-time world player of the year winner invokes a certain clause in his Barcelona contract during the Summer according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

It has always appeared impossible that Messi would depart the Blaugrana, where he has spent his entire playing career, until now.

Barcelona are understood to have great fear that Messi could depart the club this Summer due to him having a clause in his contract which allows him to completely free himself in June and to do so he only needs to give 30 days notice.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain and Juventus could all be options given the funds they have available to them but Inter could be too.

This season the 32-year-old attacker has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2000 minutes on the field, he has netted 19 goals and tallied 12 assists for his teammates.
