Inter are getting closer to agreeing personal terms with pending free agent Tahith Chong according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The Dutch youngster’s contract with Manchester United is set to expire at the end of this season and Inter have been in talks with his representatives over a potential free transfer for a few weeks now.

Inter have tabled a five year contract offer to the attacker with a starting salary of €1.5 million net per season which will rise throughout the duration of the contract. Chong is understood to however want a starting salary of €2 million net per season.

Whilst personal terms do not seem far from being agreed on, there is still some distance between Inter and his representatives when it comes to commission.

The representatives have dropped their initial demands of €7 million to somewhere between €4-4.5 million but it is still too much for Inter who want to pay a lot less.

The report goes on to state that when Chong joins it cannot be excluded that he could be loaned to Inter’s Chinese sister club Jiangsu Suning.

It also adds that his representatives will evaluate offers from French, German and Spanish clubs in the coming days.
