Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong has knocked back the advances of reigning Spanish champions Barcelona according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The Dutch youth national team player’s contract with the Premier League club is due to expire at the end of this season and he will become a free agent.

Barcelona are one of a number of clubs to have shown an interest in signing the 20-year-old attacker but look set to miss out on him now.

Inter have met with Chong’s representatives on several occasions and as per the Rome based newspaper, the Nerazzurri club are convinced that they have done enough to ensure that Chong will join them in the coming months.

Inter are so convinced in fact that they are also working out where they could possibly loan Chong out to in Serie A. He could be loaned out to Hellas Verona, a team Inter have very good relations with.
