Inter and AC Milan are both keeping an eye on Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret with a view to him potentially becoming the heir to their current number one goalkeepers according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Inter’s current number one Samir Handanovic is not getting any younger and Inter’s search for a new goalkeeper who can takeover from him in the coming years has been well documented in the media in recent weeks.

As for AC Milan, rumours continue to persist about Gianluigi Donnarumma’s long term future with the club with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Juventus all being linked with moves for him as of late.

Meret is currently under contract with Napoli until the end of the 2022/23 season but Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso has recently admitted that he is not ideal for the way he wants to play which has left the 22-year-old to weigh up his future at the Stadio San Paolo.
