Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta would prefer to receive Arthur as part of a deal from Barcelona for Lautaro Martinez according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Barcelona seem unwilling to pay Lautaro’s €111 million release clause in his current contract but are widely reported to be willing to give Inter a deal worth €150 million which is inclusive of the values of players they would include.

Inter have drawn strong links to Arturo Vidal for some time and Inter manager Antonio Conte would like reunited with him but Marotta would prefer to have Arthur due to the fact he can be a longer term option for the club given he is 23-years-old whilst Vidal is 32-years-old.

The report goes on to state that Arthur could be one of several new midfielders to join the club in the Summer if Marotta gets his way as Inter could go in for Fiorentina’s Gaetano Castrovilli or Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul.

It goes on to add that Borja Valero is almost certain to leave when his contract expires and one of Roberto Gagliardini or Matias Vecino could also depart.
