Fiorentina president and owner Rocco Commisso is hopeful that he will be able to convince star man Federico Chiesa to sign a new long term contract with the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report explains that the Italo-American businessman wishes to tie Chiesa down to the club for the next five years and is willing to give him a salary of €4.5 million a season.

Commisso is willing to do offer him such a salary in a bid to try and deter the interest from both Inter and Juventus, who are long term admirers of the Italian national team winger.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that so long as Chiesa has not signed any new deal, the chances of him departing La Viola for either of the above mentioned clubs remains high.

The 22-year-old has made 26 appearances this season, in which he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.
