Legendary Italian striker Luca Toni has shared his belief that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is a more complete player than Inter owned Mauro Icardi.

Kane and Icardi have proved to be two of the most prolific goalscorers of their generation. Kane has netted 181 goals in 278 matches across all competitions for Spurs whilst Icardi has netted 124 goals in 219 appearances across all competitions for Inter.

Icardi is currently out on loan at reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain and he has been just as prolific in the French capital as he was at Inter with him having netted 20 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions for them.

“Who is the best striker in the world who is under 30-years-old? Harry Kane. He is a true centre forward and scores a lot of goals. With him only being 26, he still has room for growth,” Toni began an interview with Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

“Icardi? He is not as good. I would say Kane is a 9/10 and Icardi is an 8/10. Icardi is just as great a finisher as Kane but he is not as complete and must participate more in the build-up. He has improved playing alongside top players like Neymar and Mbappe.”

Toni enjoyed a 22 year playing career between 1994 and 2016 and he himself had some very prolific spells at clubs especially Palermo, Fiorentina and Bayern Munich when he was at the peak of his powers. He was also very much prolific in final few seasons as a professional with Hellas Verona with him scoring a goal almost every other game.
