In an interview with Instagram profile ‘Cronache di Spogliatoio‘, Inter defender Antonio Candreva has given an insight into the relationship that the current crop of Inter players have together.

Firstly he spoke on what it is like to work under Antonio Conte.

“Conte prepares us from the first day of the week, the same intensity is always present in our training. The manager is always present, he checks on us together with the coaches,” the 33-year-old, who joined the club back in the Summer of 2016 from fellow Serie A club Lazio, explained.

“Every day they explain the program to us, we want to keep ourselves in condition in this complicated phase.”

Next he discussed the group: “We are a nice group, we are happy and in the WhatsApp group we are always active. We are a beautiful group.”

Candreva then went on to speak about Inter’s club record signing Romelu Lukaku, who has started life in Nerazzurri in fine fashion with him having netted 23 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions to date in his first season with the club.

“He is a great player and has great room for improvement. He is a golden boy, exceptional. He has become a great player, he is super intelligent and knows five languages ​​well enough to allow him to speak with everyone.”

He then went on to speak about the belief he has in himself.

“I have always believed in myself. I am pleased that the coaches keep me at the centre of the project. Since I arrived at Lazio I have understood that consistency is the most important thing.

“Everyone has his own path and never stops learning. I’m overjoyed to do the best job in the world, as far as I’m concerned.”

Candreva proceeded to discuss whether or not he has thought about life after football yet given he is not getting any younger: “I have not asked myself this question yet, I want to play until I no longer have the enthusiasm that I have today and that of when I was a child.”

This season Candreva, who has been rejuvenated under the management of Antonio Conte, has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided six assists.
