Barcelona are prepared to offer Inter Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal as part of the deal for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews today.

The report details how the Blaugrana are incredibly keen to sign the 22-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, but do not want to pay his €111 million release clause.

So, they are prepared to offer Inter a player that they previously looked for in both the summer and winter transfer windows in the last 12 months.

Vidal’s contract with the Catalan club expires at the end of June 2021, the report continues, and so he is worth less than the €20 million figure that the Blaugrana previously valued him at.

Considering the expected effect on the transfer market by the Coronavirus, it is likely that Inter will fail to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer, meaning that Vidal may prove an important low-cost option, even if Lautaro is not sold to the Catalan club.
