Inter are facing competition from Valencia for River Plate duo Lucas Martinez Quarta according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Inter have drawn no shortage of links to Martinez Quarta in particular recently with it understood that they are keen to bolster their defensive department, just like both Valencia are.

Martinez Quarta has a €22 million release clause in his current contract with the Superliga Argentina side but reports have suggested that River Plate could accept an offer in the region of €15-18 million for him.

Martinez Quarta is not the only central defender that Valencia are reportedly keeping an eye on with it also having been reported that they have Inter centre back Diego Godin on their radar.

Godin has struggled to adapt since his arrival at Inter on a free transfer which has led to suggestions that he could move on at the end of this season.

The report from TuttoMercatoWeb goes on to state that Inter and Roma are both keen on signing Martinez Quarta’s River Plate teammate Gonzalo Montiel.
