Radja Nainggolan will have to reduce his wages if he wishes to remain with Cagliari past the end of this season according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.
The Belgian midfielder is currently on loan at the Sardinian club on loan from Inter but his €4 million annual wages are a stumbling block to a permanent move taking place.
If able to convince Nainggolan to stay, the report goes on to state that Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini has come up with two ideas on how he can then reach an agreement with Inter.
The first idea would be to offer Nahitan Nandez in exchange for the 31-year-old whilst the second idea would be to waive the €25 million fee Inter are due them for Nicolo Barella in return for getting to keep a hold of Nainggolan.
Whilst back at the Rossoblu, Nainggolan has found his best form again and has scored five goals and tallied six assists in 24 appearances.
The report also states that Nainggolan could return to Inter and evaluate other offers.
