Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that there are currently no ongoing negotiations between Barcelona and Inter over multi-time world player of the year Lionel Messi.

In the past few days there has been a lot of speculation that Messi could leave the reigning Spanish champions for Inter after his relations with the Barcelona management have seemingly broken down.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season and a recent report has even suggested that Inter’s sponsors could help them to afford him.

“There are no negotiations in progress between the parties. It is not the time for such a deal,” he remarked whilst in the Sky Sport Italia studios this afternoon.

Di Marzio also commented on the futures of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez and Paris Saint Germain’s Neymar, both of whom have been strongly linked with Barcelona.

“The Blaugrana will not sign both of them. It remains to be seen if Griezmann would accept a transfer to PSG and if Inter will accept the players offered by Bartomeu.”

He also spoke on Fiorentina duo Gaetano Castrovilli and Federico Chiesa, with both players seemingly on the radar of both Inter and Juventus among several other clubs ahead of the Summer transfer window.

“Commisso said that the best players will not be sold and he is someone who always respects what he says. We will see what offers will arrive, but it is unlikely that the viola will make two sacrifices. At most one of them will go away.”
