Inter are ready to hand current number one goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic a contract extension according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

The 35-year-old shot-stopper is currently under contract with the club until the end of next season but the report states that Inter are ready to tie him down for another season until the end of the 2021/22 season.

The report goes on to state that Handanovic has played a significant role in recent weeks whilst football has been on hold due to the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic and has been the glue that has kept everyone together.

Handanovic has been with Inter for just over eight years and has been virtually ever present for the Nerazzurri since his arrival from Udinese.

Handanovic has made no less than 324 appearances across all competitions to date for the club in which he has kept a total of 114 clean sheets.
