Juventus are ahead in the race to sign Fiorentina talisman and Inter target Federico Chiesa, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how club president Rocco Commisso confirmed that he wouldn’t block any times from signing Chiesa, despite the fact that Juventus are the Viola’s top rivals. When Fiorentina star Roberto Baggio joined Juventus in the summer of 1990, there were riots on the streets of Florence, but still Commisso isn’t against Chiesa following the same path.

Fiorentina want at least €70 million in cash, the report continues, a figure that even Juventus can’t reach for now. The Viola are also willing to give Chiesa a new contract, worth around €4 million net per season. Inter, on the other hand, are behind the Old Lady in the race for the 22-year-old’s signature now, which may force them to look elsewhere. The player has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances this season.
