Inter are at work trying to sign star midfielder Marcelo Brozovic down to a new and improved contract according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Brozovic has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season and the Nerazzurri club wish to give him a two year contract extension until 2024.

Inter are willing to give him a salary increase of €1 million so he would earn €4.5 million annually but it is understood that the Croatian national team player is looking for €6 million a year to sign a new deal.

The report goes on to state that Premier League giants Liverpool have developed a keen interest in signing Brozovic but the 27-year-old is prioritising contract talks with Inter, who would like to remove his €60 million release clause as part of a new deal.

This season Brozovic has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goal and provided five assists.
