Inter are keeping a close eye on Dries Mertens situation with Napoli after contract renewal talks have stalled between the parties according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mertens current deal with the Stadio San Paolo club is due to expire at the end of this season and various reports in the media a few weeks back suggested that he was set to prolong his stay in Naples but the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic has majorly complicated things.

Mertens has offers on the table from both Inter and AS Monaco and he is evaluating both offers whilst time for signing a contract extension with Napoli is running out.

The 32-year-old Belgian national team player, who has also drawn links to Premier League club Chelsea as of late, has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date this season.

In just under 1800 minutes on the field he has scored 18 goals and has provided six assists for his teammates.
