Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed on air this late afternoon, that Timo Werner is certain to leave RB Leipzig this Summer and that Inter have shown an interest in signing him.

Werner has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in recent seasons and has drawn links to a number of clubs in addition to Inter as a result.

According to the report, via Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com, Champions League holders Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for him and some reports have also suggested that Werner is on Barcelona’s radar in case they are unable to land primary transfer target Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

“He will leave Leipzig for sure. His agents are working to find the best solution. Inter? There has been contact with the Nerazzurri, who are thinking about him if Lautaro to Barcelona should come to fruition. Watch out for Juventus too,” Di Marzio remarked whilst speaking from home during a Sky Sport Italia broadcast.

The renowned transfer market expert then went on to discuss the links between Werner and Liverpool.

“There is no agreement. It is difficult for Werner to find accommodation in the attack of the Reds, at the moment they need nothing. There have been enquiries made but nothing has been done. ”

This season the 24-year-old has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 27 goals and tallied 12 assists for his teammates.
