The highly rated young Greek full back is leaving Panathinaikos on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract and they will receive a FIFA determined compensation amount of €400,000 from Inter.

Vagiannidis’ contract, which is until the end of the 2023/24 season, comes with an annual salary of €300,000 plus add-ons, a figure that could double if he makes 10 appearances.

It will be up to Inter manager Antonio Conte to decide the player’s fate. Vagiannidis will join the first team for pre-season training and a loan move for the duration of next season seems the most concrete possibility but him sticking around until January cannot be excluded either.

The 18-year-old leaves the Greek Super League side has made 17 appearances across all competitions this term between first team and youth team level, in which he has scored five goals and provided a single assist.
