Atalanta are interested in signing Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, according to a report from Italian broadcaster QS as reported by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

The report details how the Bergamo based club are interested in re-signing the 26-year-old Italian midfielder, who they sold to Inter in 2017. The player himself would be interested in a return to the club as he would be able to play regularly in a Champions League squad, as he hopes to earn a spot in the Italy squad for Euro 2021.

Gagliardini would cost Atalanta around €20 million, the report continues, but the excellent relationship between the two clubs could help to facilitate a negotiation.

The 26-year-old Italian midfielder has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1018 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, being used sparingly by coach Antonio Conte. The Nerazzurri are also looking to sign new midfielders in the summer.
