Inter will only sell Lautaro Martinez if Barcelona pay his €111 million release clause, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia aired late last night.
The report details how the Blaugrana are incredibly keen to sign the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023. The Milanese club have no interest in losing the player and so aren’t interested in negotiating with the Catalan club, who have been looking for a cash discount on the Argentine striker.
Barcelona cannot afford to pay Lautaro’s €111 million release clause, the report continues, but Inter won’t budge. The player’s release clause is valid until the 7th July, and after that date even €111 million may not be enough to secure the signature of the 22-year-old.
Lautaro has made 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2508 minutes. In that time, he has scored 17 goals and provided four assists, forming a strong partnership with Romelu Lukaku.
