Napoli have no need to fear of being overtaken by Inter their pursuit of Lille’s Victor Osimhen according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

Inter have not entered the race to sign the highly rated Nigerian national team striker and this report insists that Napoli remain firmly in pole position to land the 21-year-old, who has had a stellar season at Lille.

Osimhen is one of several strikers to have been linked with potential moves to Inter ahead of the upcoming transfer window with it understood that the likes of Hertha Berlin’s Mattheus Cunha are also under consideration.

Osimhen came through the ranks at Ultimate Strikers Academy in Nigeria and was snapped up by Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in January 2017. After two and a half seasons in Germany he moved to Belgian side RSC Charleroi where he spent a season before being snapped up by Lille this past Summer.

In what looks to be the only season he will have at Lille, Osimhen has made 38 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 18 goals and provided a total of six assists for his teammates.
