Inter central defender Alessandro Bastoni has sang the praises of Inter manager Antonio Conte for the faith he has shown in him throughout the campaign.

The highly rated Italian youth national team player has had his first team breakthrough at Inter this term and has largely impressed with his performances.

Bastoni is regarded as one of Inter’s best young players at the moment and he even managed to keep the vastly more experienced Diego Godin out of the side for a decent amount of time.

“Conte has given me a lot. I don’t know how many managers would have had the courage to give a 20-year-old their debut at Inter as he did with me,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today.

He then added: “We are on a growth path and we are doing it together. We must continue all together on the same road.”

Bastoni joined Inter in August 2017 and spent the next season back on loan at Atalanta. He spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Parma and made his Inter first team debut earlier on this season.

The 21-year-old, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, has made 24 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored two goals.
