Inter central defender Alessandro Bastoni has stressed that Monday night’s win over Torino was important given the recent results that the team have had.
“It was important to win because we had two bad results, despite the performances,” he began an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.
Bastoni, who has had his first team breakthrough this term at Inter, then went on to insist that the team have always been united.
“We have always been united as, only we know what is happening in the locker room and on Monday we proved to be a great group. We have always been a team, sometimes things have went wrong but against Torino the opposite happened.”
The Italian youth national team defender, who is one of Inter’s most promising players, proceeded to discuss tomorrow night’s Serie A match against bottom placed SPAL.
“It will surely be harder from a psychological than a physical point of view. Playing many games close together takes a lot of energy but we are fine. As was the case against Brescia, we must not look at the standings against SPAL.”
Bastoni joined Inter in 2017 from Atalanta and following a loan spell back at the Bergamo club and at Parma, Bastoni was integrated into the Inter first team and has had plenty of faith shown in him by Inter manager Antonio Conte, who he has recently praised in another interview.
This season Bastoni has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored two goals.
