Inter youngster Lorenzo Pirola has shared his delight following Inter’s 4-0 triumph away to SPAL, in which he made his first team debut for the club.

The highly rated Italian youth national team player came off the substitutes bench with 10 minutes to spare in the match as he replaced man of the match Alexis Sanchez, who grabbed himself a goal and an assist.

Antonio Candreva opened the scoring for Inter shortly before the half time interval. Cristiano Biraghi scored Inter’s second and then set up the third which was scored by Sanchez. Roberto Gagliardini notched Inter’s final goal of the game.

“There are so many emotions after making my debut. It has always been my goal also because I have been cheering for Inter since I was a child,” Pirola remarked in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, following the full time whistle at the Stadio Paolo Mazza.

“I must always be calm and try to have fun to avoid going into difficulty, trying to make everything natural. Now I hope to gain more and more space within the squad.”

Aside from his appearance tonight, Pirola has made 20 appearances at youth level through Inter over the course of the campaign, in which he has provided a single assist for his teammate.
