Inter are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United to extend Alexis Sanchez’s loan deal until the end of the season, with a possible caveat, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have been in talks with the Red Devils to extend the 31-year-old Chilean forward’s loan spell until the end of the season, as currently it’s set to expire on the 9th August, whilst the Milanese club are still in contention for the Europa League.

Inter are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United, the report continues, although they may be forced to accept a penalty that wouldn’t let them field the Chilean against the English club in a potential Europa League final. After completing this deal, the Nerazzurri will try to find a way to keep Sanchez for next season as well.

The first step will be to try and lower Man Utd’s €20 million request, the report highlights, but Inter would be open to agreeing a new loan deal with different conditions to make a deal more convincing.
