Inter are back in pole position to sign Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri club have overtaken Lazio in the race to sign the highly rated Albanian national team player having made an offer which has taken Lazio president Claudio Lotito by surprise.

Inter have offered €30 million plus Eddie Salcedo and an Inter Primavera player to the Gialloblu. Lazio had previously offered between €20-22 million plus Andre Anderson and the report explains that Lotito has no plans to match Inter’s offer or better it either.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has already shifted his attention onto another player.

Kumbulla is widely regarded as one of the best defensive prospects in Serie A at the moment and has had his breakthrough season this term with him having made 26 appearances, in which he has scored one goal.
