Inter are considering re-signing Belgian defender Zinho Vanheusden, who has impressed this season with Standard Liege, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 20-year-old centre back was sold to the Belgian club a year ago for around €13 million and impressed this season with the club, despite suffering from a knee injury at the start of the season.

He quickly became a core part of their defense, making 28 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2334 minutes, scoring two goals in that time.

Inter are now thinking about enforcing the gentlemen’s agreement they reached with Standard Liege a year ago, the report continues, to re-sign the player at the cost of €20 million.

The two clubs are in constant contact, although they haven’t started formal negotiations yet regarding the player. Vanheusden is a product of Inter’s youth system, but never made a first team appearance for the club.
