Despite his outburst yesterday, Inter will not dismiss coach Antonio Conte, according to a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today.

The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach furiously criticised the club in post-match interviews yesterday for failing to protect the squad and himself in the media.

Despite his outburst, the club have no intention of dismissing the former Juventus and Chelsea boss, and still believe that he is central to the project at the club.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta didn’t want to discuss the outburst with Conte until today, the report continues, perhaps after a meeting with president Steven Zhang, who is currently in China. The Nerazzurri CEO knows the Italian coach well from their time together at Juventus and so knows that he needs time to calm down.

There is still a chance that Conte could decide to resign, the report continues. When he left Juventus, it was in the heat of the moment because the club didn’t satisfy him in the transfer market, and so there is a chance that he could make a quick decision this summer too.

In this case though, the Nerazzurri believe in Conte’s project and want to satisfy their coach. Should Conte leave, however, the club’s first choice to replace him would be Massimiliano Allegri.
