A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has confirmed that the injuries to Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni are minor and both are expected to return to squad training next week.

The report details how both players were forced to pull out of their respective national team’s Nations League commitments due to minor injuries, with the Dutchman suffering from a slight ankle sprain and the Italian dealing with muscular fatigue. Both players featured heavily in the restart of the season, including playing in the Europa League final near the end of August.

The pair have already started rehabilitation and physiotherapy, the report continues, and are expected to return to normal squad training in the middle of next week, hardly missing out on coach Antonio Conte’s pre-season preparations. The Milanese club’s season opener is against Fiorentina on the 26th September, a week later than their peers due to their Europa League campaign.
