Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini has revealed that he has been unable to find an agreement with Inter that would enable him to bring Radja Nainggolan back to the club.

Nainggolan spent the 2019/20 season on loan at the Rossoblu club from Inter and Cagliari have far from hidden their desire to bring him back.

Giulini met for talks with Inter management this afternoon but has failed to reach an agreement and he has shared his belief that Nainggolan will be staying put with Inter, who he thinks really want to keep him.

“The meeting for Nainggolan did not go well, he remains in Milan. It is impossible to bring him back to Cagliari, they want to keep him,” Giulini told the gathered media including Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia and news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, after the talks.

During his loan spell at the Sardegna Arena, Nainggolan made 29 appearances across all competitions.

In his time on the park, which totalled just under 2300 minutes, the 32-year-old Belgian scored a total of six goals and also provided seven assists for his teammates.
