Nicolo Barella will be subject to testing today after sustaining an injury in yesterday evening’s pre-season friendly match against Lugano according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter took on the Swiss Super League club at the Suning Training Centre in memory of Angelo Moratti and Barella lasted just 16 minutes of the match.

The Italian national team player sustained a blow to his right arm and shoulder and was forced to come off the pitch as a result.

A report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia last night stated that Barella’s injury is not as serious as first feared and that he has suffered bruising.

Barella joined Inter in the Summer of 2019 from fellow Serie A side Cagliari and had a stellar first season with Inter. The 23-year-old made 41 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored four goals and tallied eight assists.
