Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he never receieved a call from Inter or many of the other clubs he was linked with becoming manager of.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has been out of work since November 2019 after he left Spurs following a very poor start to the 2019/20 season.

Despite the poor start, Pochettino remains a very highly regarded manager worldwide and he was linked with becoming manager of many different clubs who considered managerial changes or even made managerial changes in recent months.

Inter were one such club who considered changing managers. Antonio Conte’s future was thrown right up in the air after his outburst following the final Serie A game of the season against Atalanta and Pochettino was linked with replacing him but in the end it was decided that Conte would be remaining in charge of the Nerazzurri.

“Did I get a call? Neither PSG, Juventus, nor Inter called me. I got a call from Benfica and Monaco. I don’t need to lie,” Pochettino explained in an interview with the El Partidazo de Cope.
