Matteo Darmian’s arrival at Inter is imminent according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Antonio Candreva’s departure for Sampdoria, which is expected to be confirmed just shortly, frees up a space in the squad that Darmian will come in and fill.

The report from the Rome based news outlet explains that Darmian is scheduled to arrive at Inter next week and states that there has been a deal in place between Inter and Parma over him for some time.

The former Manchester United player joined Parma last Summer and made 34 appearances across all competitions last season, in which he scored one goal and also tallied one assist.

Darmian is primarily a right wing-back but he is a highly versatile player capable of covering every role in the defence.

A recent report from Corriere dello Sport stated that Darmian has agreed a four year contract with Inter that comes with an annual salary of €1.5 million net.
