Inter are planning on handing striker Lautaro Martinez a new contract according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The 23-year-old is already under contract with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season but Inter are looking to tie him down until 2025 with talks set to take place once the transfer window closes next week.

Inter management are considering upping his current release clause from €111 million to €170 million in a bid to prevent arch rivals Juventus from moving for him in the event that either Cristiano Ronaldo or Paulo Dybala depart the club next Summer.

As part of the new deal Lautaro will also get a pay rise and the report states that there could also be other clauses inserted into the new contract.

Lautaro joined Inter in 2018 and has since went on to make 85 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he scored 31 goals and tallied nine assists for his teammates.
