Three of the biggest Italian media outlets have been unanimous in their praise of Inter central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini following his performance in Inter’s 5-2 win over Benevento on Wednesday evening.

The six time Italian national team representative made his first appearance of the season for Inter at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito and put in a top performance for Antonio Conte’s side with him scoring Inter’s second goal and providing an assist for another of Inter’s goals in the match.

Gagliardini joined Inter back in the January transfer window of the 2016/17 season from Atalanta and he has since went on to make 105 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park Gagliardini, who is contract to Inter until 2023, has scored 12 goals and provided five assists for his teammates.

Gazzetta dello Sport have given Gagliardini a rating of 7.5 for his performance: “Like him or not, he has unrepeatable characteristics. He scored a goal, got an assist and hit the crossbar and just the one down note, the mistake which led to Caprari’s goal to 1-3.”

Corriere dello Sport also gave the 26-year-old the same rating: “It was a first half of remarkable quality with precise passes, a goal, plus the assist for the third goal. He also hit the crossbar in the second half.”

Tuttosport meanwhile gave him a rating of 7: “He gave balance and defensive incisiveness. He scored a nice left-footed goal, creates the chance for the third goal and hit the crossbar.”
