Sassuolo have rejected an offer from Inter for central midfielder Manuel Locatelli according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta di Modena.

Inter made a loan with option to buy offer to Sassuolo in exchange for Locatelli but unlike with Matteo Politano and Stefano Sensi, both of whom Inter signed in such a manner from Sassuolo, the Neroverdi club have knocked Inter back.

Sassuolo will not let the player leave due to how little time there is left in the transfer window, which is due to close this coming Monday. Moreover, the player himself actually has a real desire to establish himself with the Emilia-Romagna based club.

22-year-old Italian national team representative Locatelli, who is a product of AC Milan’s academy, has been with Sassuolo since the Summer of 2018.

Since joining them Locatelli has made 67 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored three goals and tallied eight assists.
