Chelsea are blocking Marcos Alonso from leaving the club but Inter are not giving up hope of signing him according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The sale of Dalbert to Rennes and imminent departure of Radja Nainggolan to Cagliari will give Inter the funds to make another move after their first attempt to sign him was unsuccessful given Chelsea were not open to loaning the Spaniard out.

Whilst Chelsea are being difficult, the player himself is pushing for a move to Inter, where he would be reunited with former manager Antonio Conte.

There are really only three wing-backs at Inter in Achraf Hakimi, Ashley Young and Ivan Perisic therefore Inter are on the lookout for another to bolster the department.

Alonso could be the player that Inter bring in and the report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Nainggolan’s wages being offloaded will help Inter to afford to match Alonso’s €5 million net a year contract he has at Chelsea.
