Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has confirmed that La Viola will sell Nikola Milenkovic next year if he does not put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.

The highly rated Serbian national team central defender drew links to both Inter and AC Milan during the recently closed Summer transfer window but ended up staying put with the Florence based club, who he is under contract with until the end of the 2021/22 season.

“Both Nikola Milenkovic and German Pezzella would’ve left for the right offer, but that never arrived. We will try to renew Milenkovic’s contract, and if he doesn’t accept, we will sell next year,” Prade explained at a press conference earlier on today.

Milenkovic was widely reported to be on Inter’s shortlist of potential replacements for Milan Skriniar, who was strongly linked with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Fiorentina reportedly value Milenkovic at €40 million and it remains to be seen what they would demand for him next year in the event that he does not agree to a new contract with the club, who he joined back in 2017.
