Former Inter and AC Milan forward Aldo Serena discussed yesterday’s Milan derby between the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper la Gazzetta dello Sport.

“AC Milan have shown their worth. A compact, simple team, who are not very obvious and aim strongly for Ibra.”

The 60-year-old Italian then discussed the Nerazzurri and their performance in yesterday’s game.

“Inter held on with Lautaro and Lukaku who were tired in the final minutes. Barella and Vidal both did well in midfield. Brozovic was disappointing, Kolarov insufficient in defense.”

Inter’s derby defeat is their first loss to AC Milan in the league in two years, a disappointing result for coach Antonio Conte, especially considering that the Nerazzurri walked away 4-2 winners in their last meeting in February.

The Milanese club will now have to focus on their next game, their Champions League opener against Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.

The game could prove to be extremely important in the context of the Champions League group, as their other opponents are Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid, so it could come down to a fight for second place between Inter and their German counterparts.

Inter’s next game in the league is against Genoa on Saturday next week.
