Former Inter central midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic has reminisced about the five year spell that he had in Italy, starting with his time at Fiorentina.

“In Florence I left my heart, it was a wonderful experience and it was the first time I played in Serie A,” he began an interview with Italian radio station TeleRadioStereo, which was broadcast a short time ago.

The former Serbian national team player, who represented his country 50 times, then reflected on his two and a half year spell with Inter, which came during a period of great transition for the Nerazzurri club.

“At Inter there was a lot of competition, it was very nice to share the locker room with so many strong players.”

He then moved on to discuss his spell with Udinese, who were the last Italian club that he played for: “Udinese was a nice surprise for me, too bad I played there for a few months because I was in loanee.

“I always tell everyone that Udine is a good place to play football especially for a young player because they help you a lot and you can grow a lot there. They have a good organisation, good pitches and the people are good, it’s a beautiful place.”

Kuzmanovic, who recently retired from football after a 13 year playing career, joined Inter in January of 2013 from German club VfB Stuttgart and left the club for FC Basel in the Summer of 2015.

During his time with the club the 33-year-old made 55 appearances across all competitions. He scored a single goal for the club, which came in his first appearance for the club and provided six assists for his teammates.
