Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic has reiterated that he is convinced that he and his teammates can make it past the Champions League group stage despite the way they started their campaign last night.

In an interview with European football’s governing body UEFA’s official broadcaster UEFA TV, Perisic stated that he is convinced that the team can make it to the next round and he has reiterated this in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset aired today.

“We had many opportunities but we only took one point, however the road is long and I am convinced that we will be able to qualify for the last 16,” the Croatian national team player explained.

Inter started their Champions League group stage campaign with a 2-2 draw with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, who had just two shots on target in the game, both of which were goals.

Inter took the lead through Romelu Lukaku shortly after the half time interval before Gladbach scored twice in a row. Lukaku saved the day for Inter in the dying embers as he popped up at the back post and tapped in.
