Former Inter defender Zinho Vanheusden is at risk of suffering a serious injury after being taken off in a game today on a stretcher, as seen in a video posted by Dutch football broadcaster Eleven Sports NL earlier today on Twitter.

The report details how the 21-year-old Belgian defender, who is contracted to Standard Liege until 2023, was taken off on a stretcher in a match today against Ostend.

The player had a challenge with Makhtar Gueye and unnaturally planted his right knee on the pitch, falling whilst releasing a piercing scream of pain.

Standard Liege are afraid that he may have torn his ACL, forcing him to miss a large part of this season. It is poor luck for the 21-year-old, who recently celebrated his debut with the Belgium national team.

Vanheusden has bounced between the Belgian side and Inter in his career and could return to the San Siro in the future.
