Inter are one of the clubs least focused on signing young players in Europe’s top five leagues the CIES Football Observatory have pointed out in their weekly report which focuses on the average age at which clubs recruited their current players, not including youth academy players.

The average age of signings that Inter have made sits 27.1, only newly promoted Benevento exceeded that amount in Italy with their transfer window recruits having an average age of 28.1.

Benevento in fact had the highest average age for signings of all clubs in Europe’s top five leagues whilst Inter had the fourth highest in Europe’s top five leagues.

Spanish side Elche had the second highest with 27.8, Osasuna third with 27.6 and Inter’s fellow Serie A club Genoa round off the top five with the Rossoblu’s having an average age of 27.0.

Real Madrid sit at the opposite end of the scale with the average age at which they recruited their current players sitting at just 22.2.
