Cagliari central midfielder Nahitan Nandez will try to be available for their match this weekend at home to Inter according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Uruguayan national team player has recorded two negative COVID-19 test results in a row and after today’s medical examinations, he will try to make himself available to manager Eusebio Di Francesco to take on the Nerazzurri at the Sardegna Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The 24-year-old missed Cagliari’s last two matches due to COVID-19 and his return will undoubtedly come as a real boost to the Rossoblu side, who will also have striker Giovanni Simeone back available.

Cagliari confirmed yesterday that Simeone trained in part with his teammates having recovered from having COVID-19. The Argentine striker, who is the son of former Inter player Diego Simeone, has shown good form this season with him scoring five goals and providing one assist in eight appearances this term.
